Treatment Plan

Examination

Musculoskeletal injuries typically respond very well to physical therapy, including an accelerated recovery and the return of function. Physical therapy can reduce pain, restore motion and strength, and recondition the body to facilitate a safe and timely return to normal activity.

Having a complete physical therapy evaluation is important when you suffer an injury. The evaluation should include a thorough assessment of your musculoskeletal structure, including muscle imbalance, strength testing, motion, balance, motor function, posture and gait.

Our therapists will not only help alleviate your pain but also discover the source of what may be causing your injury. Physical therapy should focus on teaching you the most effective manner to treat yourself so you are not continually dependent on returning to be "fixed."

We will give you a safe home therapy program to improve your body and teach you how to prevent future injuries.

We will generally start your treatment with massage and joint and soft tissue mobilization, which are a gentle way to improve mobilization of a joint or muscle. Treatment time may be longer with a physical therapist vs. other health professionals.
